Value of vinyl record Meddle US Pressing on label Columbia with catalogue number SMAS-832 by Pink Floyd based on collected auction results. At the same time they wrestled with lyrical themes and concepts of such massive scale that their music has taken on almost classical, operatic quality, in both sound and words. Since the mid-'60s, their music relentlessly tinkered with electronics and all manner of special effects to push pop formats to their outer limits. While retaining great detail, it is explosive! And I prefer my Wall to be that way.Pink Floyd are one of the premier rock bands of all time. I wanted to love the Japanese pressing and I do because it is unique in a very pleasing way, but I have to give my personal nod to the TMLs, specifically the German because of its quite vinyl. Japan (non-TML): Smooth and detailed which gives it a slightly less dynamic quality without feeling compressed. In other words, the difference from the quit to loud passages of music are not as great as the TMLs. Pink throws a dead rat into the Grand Union Canal with Kensal Green gasworks in the background. Detected the slightest bit of compression. Holland (non-TML): Almost every bit as good as the TMLs above. German (TML): Again, just like above, only on nice quite vinyl. You can hear them on Tidal, Deezer, and Amazon Music. UK (TML): Just like above, only my copy is crackle-n-pop city. Most Pink Floyd albums have been released digitally in UHD (24/44.1 to 24/192 bit rate) a format which provides a far superior quality than standard CD whether streamed or downloaded. US (TML): Just as great as we know it to be dynamic and holographic. The Dark Side of the Moon (Immersion Edition) by Pink Floyd Audio CD 199.09.
Wish You Were Here (Immersion Edition) by Pink Floyd Audio CD 119.99. The only discernible difference will be with the quality of vinyl that it was pressed on. This item: The Wall (Experience Edition) by Pink Floyd Audio CD 88.67. The song was later rewritten and recorded as The Heros Return for The Final Cut. The demo was finally released on the Experience/Immersion edition sets. Interesting song which only exists as a demo from the creation of the Wall.
Secondly, I might be going out on a limb here so correct me if I am wrong, but I'm certain that there is no mastering differences with any TML pressed side for any given country. Album releases: The Wall - Experience Edition. In a blind test, I would have a hard time singling it out amongst the bunch. My assumption that it was going to sound lifeless was way off. Let me first say that the Holland pressing does indeed sound great. Finally listened to all my copies this morning.
